MAIN IDEA!

finally came up with a main idea.. a documentary on sixth form life.

due to our sixth form being in a ‘bad’ area, people already have an opinion on people that go to our sixth form.

as there is different groups in sixth form, therefore there will be different experiences and aspects through different peoples eyes, teacher’s and student’s alike. i just need to find more articles and photos..

MEDIA PRESENTATION.

i started my media presentation on documentaries, still need to come up with three ideas. i have a possible first idea, which involves teen life and situations teenagers go through.

i researched what a documentary is and what it involves, it’s conventions, and gave examples of uk documentary shows that run today and what they talk about, for example:

“Panorama is the longest-running current affairs documentary series in the world. Launched on 11 November 1953 on BBC Television, it focuses on investigative journalism.” From Wikipedia.

I also figured that the fonts used in documentaries are very simple, bold but they stand out to capture out the audience for example:

helvetica (kerned tighter)

bebas (kerned tighter)

futura (kerned looser)

what did you learn last year?

i learned and improved my editing skills on iMovie, learned different camera postions/angles/movement and media terminology.

what do you want to learn this year?

i want to learn more about photoshop and in design, as i haven’t used them much before and i want to learn more in detail about the different media platforms.

www: research and planning of main idea for portfolio, time management (towards the end), group work etc.

ebi: more revision on terminology, better grades.

three targets to improve?

stick to deadlines, revise more on topics that will come up in the exam.
